Everyone involved in the design and construction process has duties to consider and enact responsibly in relation to Health & Safety.
As well as the Building Regulations which are mainly focussed on the safety of the operational building, legislation such as the Construction Design & Maintenance (CDM) regulations applies to the whole lifecycle of a building. This includes design, construction, inhabitation, maintenance and ultimately disposal. As the client/employer in the project, it is important to ensure that you are well aware of your responsibilities and duties.
